I am photographer and writer based in Lisbon.

My first project, We’re All Bastards, examines war, memories and forgiveness during a trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina in late 2013. In 2016 I went to Cambodia to work on photojournalism, and with The Train People of Sihanoukville I focus on the how the development of the country’s railways is impacting trackside communities. I have also performed additional reporting for the Guardian’s Observer magazine on modern-day slavery.

Focal Distancing, shot from a single window, looks at how the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown affected the lives and character of my old neighbourhood of La Chapelle in Paris. It has expanded to question ideas of surveillance and behaviour, and I have developed it into a multi-media installation.

I’m also interested in ideas around the perceptions of art more broadly, and talk about this in The Light Abstract. This project has also been developed into an interactive installation to encourage audience engagement in the artistic process.
